I approached this project thinking about myself, my family members, and the visually impaired. Deprived of the ability to see every day– my $351 glasses and $200 contacts get me through. I want to capture the frustration of the inability to see and the regression of sight. My sequence is a gradation of losing vision through the harshness of the plastic in the photographs. Taking pictures of mundane habits that we (individuals with sight) take for granted. I pair these images with braille sentences that put the viewer in the mindset of someone who is blind. I put myself into the narrative. While I have not lost my vision completely, it is something that can happen.
