I am swallowed by the beautiful glow of the screen, and every decision I make on the device is mine. The screen is the last thing I see before I go to sleep and the first thing I touch when I wake up. Before I clock in, and before I clock out, and during my lunch and bathroom breaks, and if I am having a hard time, I will take a walk with my phone. 

I know that foxes are domesticating themselves, and how democracy is crumbling, and what you should pack for Coachella, and how to make Mediterranean pasta salad–I do not know or care that I have been committed to the screen for three hours now. 

I see the beautiful mountain landscape. It has a blanket of snow on the peak and fluffy forests descending the mountainside into the bluest lake that you will ever see–I do not know where I am or if it is real, because I never really look at the title or information when selecting wallpaper, but it is a beautiful image. 

I only look for a second because I need to figure out the Wordle today.
